Hi,
I would like to know the Replication method which is fast and the best approach,we need two schemas to be moved/replicated to a new reporting database. It appears that data is to be flown in one way,do we proceed with Materialized view replication or please clarify about Oracle Streams and Advanced replication. what are the factors to decide the replication method. Please let me know if any further information is required
Thanks,
Badri S

I would say that the first point to consider is money. Materialized View replication is included in Standard Edition Licences, Advanced Replication and most of Streams needs Enterprise Edition Licences. Golden Gate would be separately licensed.
Apart from that, you need to document the requirement: how close to real-time does the replication need to be? Should the master site continue to operate if the replication fails?

Thanks John for your reply,We are in the initial stage of planning and am not sure how close the real time data needs to be available,if real time data needs to be available immediately,do we not proceed with MV replication?Master site will continue to work even if there is replication issue..
Is there a performance oriented difference in choosing between Streams and Advanced Replication and also if replication database is going to be used for reporting,is MV replication the best option?
