Dear All,

My database is in RAC with 3 nodes.
In one node, ADDM report suggests that -
FINDING 1: 100% impact (657 seconds)
------------------------------------
Significant virtual memory paging was detected on the host operating system.

RECOMMENDATION 1: Host Configuration, 100% benefit (657 seconds)
ACTION: Host operating system was experiencing significant paging but no
particular root cause could be detected. Investigate processes that
do not belong to this instance running on the host that are consuming
significant amount of virtual memory. Also consider adding more
         physical memory to the host.

Memory consumption is appearing as between 74 to 75, which is good enough.

Memory Usage %: 74.52 to 75.62

ADDM report consider memory used by oracle or non-oracle also?

Eager to know the answer.

Regards,
Ishika

Hello Ishika

Can you please Post the following details:

1.) vmstat 5 5

2.) The Operating system and also the Database version.

If that is a 10g version then this is Hit by Bug and in later the 11gR2 the Bug has been solved by the patch Please refer the Following Metalink ID 1322964.1

Regards

Kapardi

Why do you attach an image for something that is a simple text you can copy and paste in the post itself (and using code/pretags)?

There is no swapping at this moment, so nothing to say.

Regards
Michel

Dear Michel,

Here, I am little bit confuse about the memory usage %.
Out of 3 nodes, 1 nodes is showing memory usage% is above 90%.
As we know that if it's value exceeds beyond 90%, need to increase physical memory.

                Number of Instance - 3
         	Database ID/Instance: 725995297/2
      	        Database Version: 10.2.0.5.0

help me out to understand the concept of memory usage % in RAC.

Regards,
Ishika

No, AIX keeps everything in its RAM until it needs to release it for someone else.
You have to take care of the swapped out figures not the memory usage.
If there is no swapped out then there is no pressure on the memory.
