I recently i faced a space crunch in UNDO tablespace due to the export and i had to add 12GB datafile to it.

now as i can see the undo tablespace normally remains 50% free as earlier, so i wanted to drop that recently added datafile from undo tablespce.

Scenario is like:

I cannot afford to restart the instance.
I don't have enough space left to create the new UNDO segment of the required size and then drop the current undo segment.

Is there any other way around to accomplish the task.

Any suggestion are much appreciated.

Thanks
AL
